B&G introduced the new Zeus sailing chart-plotter and navigation system, designed to meet the needs of bluewater cruisers and regatta sailors.

“The new Zeus delivers high-tech sailing features developed for sailors who demand performance whether cruising or racing, and understand the importance of a fast delivery of detailed information in even the most extreme weather conditions,” Navico CEO Leif Ottosson said in a statement. “In fact, the Zeus will be key to the success of top sailors in the forthcoming 2017 Volvo Ocean Race and play a vital role for the winning team.”

B&G also announced it will be an official Volvo Ocean Race supplier for the 2017-18 race.

B&G will be the heart of the entire fleet of Volvo Ocean 65 yachts with navigation systems, tactical software and Grand Prix level instrument systems.

B&G will also be providing race support to the organizers and crews of the 2017 Volvo Ocean Race, which begins on Oct. 4 in Alicante, Spain.

“Since the inception of the world-renowned Volvo Ocean Race, every winning team has relied on sailing instruments from B&G,” Ottosson said in a statement. “In 2017 this brilliant racing heritage will continue to deliver the teams with the very latest racing equipment to confidently navigate each leg of this grueling 45,000 nautical mile race.”
